It is being told that the incident took place near Chhoti Ballia Misikar Tola of Ballia Nagar area. During the immersion of the Durga idol here on Wednesday, a woman from the community allegedly threw four-five bricks from the terrace in front of the idol.

After this the atmosphere became tense. Youth participating in blotting in protest against brick falling. People also protested by setting fire on the streets. After receiving information about the incident, SDO Rohit Kumar, DSP Vinay Kumar Rai, Superintendent of Police Surendra Kumar Singh reached there.

Along with him, City Administrator Santosh Kumar, CO Chandan Kumar, BDO Sunny Kumar also reached the spot and tried to control the atmosphere amid security arrangements. But the protesters did not agree with this explanation and the riots intensified.

Police lathicharged

After receiving information about the increasing unrest, Begusarai DM Roshan Kushwaha and SP Yogendra Kumar reached the spot with heavy police force. He also called upon people to take a step back. After this, when people did not move, violent lathicharge took place.

Police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. This caused a stampede. Later the miscreants threw the vegetables of retail vegetable shopkeepers across the Ballia market. Started arson on the road in protest.

Police dispersed the goons, leading to riots

Seeing the bad atmosphere, all the vegetable shopkeepers evacuated from the spot. Police also reached the spot and chased away the miscreants. Regarding the incident, it has been learned that the incident happened when the idol of Badi Durga Mata was going to take bath.

Four or five bricks reportedly fell from the roof in front of the statue. This created a tense atmosphere but somehow the committee members took out the idols of Badi Durga Sthan and Shitara Mata Durga Sthan.

But as soon as the Durga idol started going out of the station, a brick was also thrown at it. After this the atmosphere worsened further. In view of the frightening atmosphere, all the market shops including Chhoti Ballia Market, Station Chowk, Station Road, Satti Chowda, Lakhminiyan were closed.

The police marched in vehicles and on foot. The situation is tense but under control. By the time the news was written, all the statues had been secured in place. The immersion has not happened yet, but the governments are busy finding a way.

Unannounced curfew has been imposed in Bahria city. Everyone is imprisoned in their respective homes. The police chased the people away as soon as they saw them. DM and SP are camping with the police force. Police from many police stations also arrived. Meanwhile, fire brigade from the fire department arrived and brought the fire on the road under control.

Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha has also strongly attacked regarding the incident of riot in Begusarai. He has condemned this incident by continuously sharing posts on his X handle. Questioning in his post, he wrote that is it secularism to create obstacles? He described this entire incident as an attempt to spoil the atmosphere.

He also wrote that someone throws stones and someone eats sticks. How was Kashmir’s stonework imported to Ballia (Begusarai)? Police should use brain more than baton, otherwise it will be a story of crow and ears!
