74 children fell ill after eating lunch in Bettiah. The condition of three students is critical. Doctors have referred two seriously ill students and a girl to Bettiah. Block Development Officer Varun Ketan and Superintendent of Police Abhay Kumar were in the hospital to get information about the health of the children. The BDO has asked the station in-charge to seize food samples for testing.

Jagran correspondent, Bettiah (Champaran West). 74 children fell ill after having lunch in the government upgraded Babutola Parsa Secondary School of Majholia police station area on Friday afternoon. He is undergoing treatment at the local primary care centre. Doctors have referred two seriously ill students and a girl to Bettiah.

It is said that after lunch in the school at 12:30 pm, about three dozen children of first class were eating food. Their food is rice and curry. After eating they started playing in the fields. After about five minutes, he started having stomach ache and headache. The children started groaning in severe pain. Some children were unconscious.

Seeing that the children were sick, the teachers immediately asked for a car from the village and took some seriously ill children to the hospital. After learning that their children were ill, parents rushed to school. Bullock Education Officer also reached the school. Later other children were also taken to the hospital by ambulance.
