Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first section of the Delhi Meerut RapidX on Friday, October 20. Many arrangements have been made inside the aircraft including providing comfortable seats for the passengers. These hi-tech buses will be equipped with digital screens that will show the passengers the status of the train on its route and the current speed of the train at any time.

Earlier, pictures of the first bogie of Delhi-Meerut RapidX train have been revealed. Airplane like seats have been installed in these for the passengers to sit.

These seats are very comfortable to sit and can be reclined as per your convenience. Apart from large windows, the high-tech trains will be equipped with digital screens that will show passengers at all times where the train is on the route and what is its current speed.

Each rake has six coaches

There will be six coaches, one senior coach and five standard coaches per rake. Fares for premium coaches will be higher, while one of the standard coaches will be reserved for women.

More than 50% of the employees will be women and priority will be given to those living between Delhi and Meerut to ensure employment for local residents.

What facilities are available to premium ticket holders?

The station will also provide a waiting room for premium ticket holders. The first passenger train will run on Saturday, with an initial frequency of 15 minutes. The train will stop for 30 seconds at every station.

What is the speed of the train?

It will be different from the regular railway system and metro network as it will be the first railway system in India to run at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour.

It is understood that there will be 14 stations on the line and the average speed is expected to be 100 kilometers per hour. The maximum speed of the train during testing was 146 kilometers per hour.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Friday inaugurate the 17-km-long Sahibabad-Duhai Warehouse section, which has five stations (Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Ghaziabad. Erdal, Duhai and Duhai Warehouse). It takes 15-17 minutes to cover this distance.
