The central government on Wednesday (October 18) gave gifts to railway employees before Diwali. Railway employees will get a bonus equal to 78 days’ salary. This move of the government will benefit more than 11.07 lakh non-gazetted employees of the national transporter. Minister Anurag Thakur said that the bonus is expected to put a burden of Rs 1,968.87 crore on the government exchequer.

 PTI, New Delhi. The central government on Wednesday (October 18) gave gifts to railway employees before Diwali. Railway employees will get a bonus equal to 78 days’ salary. This move of the government will benefit more than 11.07 lakh non-gazetted employees of the national transporter.

Announcing the news, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said, “The Union Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the provision of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) to Gazetted Railway employees equivalent to 78 days’ salary for the financial year 2022-23. The offer has been approved.”

This decision will benefit track maintenance personnel, locomotive drivers, train managers (guards), station masters, supervisors, technicians, technical assistants, conductors, ministerial staff and other Group ‘C’ employees, but will not benefit RPF and RPSF personnel of the Railways. Will not done.
