Associated Press, New York. A judge fined former US President Donald Trump $10,000 in a civil fraud case. The judge said Trump violated a limited restraining order in connection with the physical assault on court staff.

The fine was imposed after Trump was called to the court to explain comments he made outside the court, in which he called the man sitting next to the judge in the case, Arthur Ngoron, extremely biased.

A few weeks earlier, Ngolon had ordered everyone involved in the hearing not to comment publicly on his staff. Trump and his lawyers said his comments were directed at the witness Michael Cohen, not the judge’s clerk.
